A Little Love Is All We Need

I shiver, I sweat, and I scream
I touch the sky and kiss the stream
I dream with my open eyes
Every time I fail, I do rise

As I bend down to tie my shoe lace
I am startled to see a body without a face
It speaks to me, I refuse to hear
I move away, and it comes near

The melting ice emits such  heat
My sorrows always taste so sweet
I close my eyes and go off to sleep
As you sow, so shall you reap

The night today is dark and divine
It says I'm yours and you're mine!
I look at the clock, it's half past nine
The dewdrops on the leaves, they shine

Across the street I see a light
The mist and fog obstruct my sight
The stationary clouds move very fast
I leave early to reach the last

I can feel the burning cold breeze
My ribs are broken, it hurts to breathe
I reach the woods, I've lost my way
I think a lot but have nothing to say

The spirits slowly sing a song
I'm chased by them, its been so long
The sky has turned purple and pink
I close my eyes, they start to blink

I weep and cry
I fail and try
And ultimately I succeed

A little love is all we need

Aey Khuda!

Humari ek muskurahat pe sab apna jaha lutta dete hai
Ik wo hai jinhe humare aasuo se bhi farak nahi padta

Aey khuda ye kaisi mohabbat hai?

Unhe bhulane ki koshish me, Khud he ko bhula baithe

Na unse nafrat kar sakke, Kisi or se na dil lag paya

Kitno key dil loote humne, Humara konsa bach paya?

Unko humne bhulana chaha magar, Wo aur yad aane lage

Unse nafrat karne ki koshish bhi ki, Par unhe hum aur chahne lage

Humne dooriya badhayi jab, Waqt ne fasle kyu kam kiye?

Hath na milaya unse kabhi, Dil na jaane kaise mil gaye?

Chand ko humne nahi dekha magar, Roz raat ko taare ginne lag gaye

Wo pas the to muskuraye hum, Unke jaate he hum rone lage

Unhe paani ki koshish chor di, Unhe khone se darne lage

Unse nazare churate hai, Unki tasveero ka deedar roz karne lage

Zindagi...

Jo milke bhi kho jaye, wo sapna hai
Pas bulane pe bhi na aaye, wo kaha apna hai?
Zindagi to bas khone-paane ki kahani hai
Kisi ko paane par bhi dukh hai
Kisi key khone pe bhi hairaani hai

Wo kaun thi..???

Shayad wo hasti thi, shayad wo roti thi

Koi fariyad magar uske dil me zaroor hoti thi
Chupke-chupke, chori-chori wo sapno ki chadar bunti thi
Rang-birange sapne the, uski rang-birangi bate thi
Subah-sham-din-rat-dopehar na jane kya wo gungunati thi?

Choti si dunia thi uski, dunia thi choti si

Pariyo si thi uski surat, surat thi pariyo si
Koyal si boli thi uski, aur dil tha sone ka
Khushi nahi paani ki koi, to gum kyu ho khone ka?

The Cold Lover

I always wonder what I would say whenever I would meet you
Though silence sets in, the very moment I see you
I wish if you could ever strike a conversation
I have tried many times, though with hesitation

You can stare all day, but can’t say what you feel?
It’s difficult to open your mouth, is it covered with a seal?
A coward you are, not worthy of love
How could a crow ever be a dove?

You think you can always talk to me as per your convenience?
I am not your child, don’t expect such obedience!
You can take all I have, please don’t rob me off my self-respect
I am willing to be proved wrong as long as you are correct

I have decided to distance myself from you
It’s killing me and I don’t know what to do
It’s easier said than done
Having to forget that special someone

You are so near, yet far away
In my heart you always stay
Your coldness burns me to death
Your smile takes away my breath

I feel so low, but my hopes are high!
How can you smile, when you are about to cry?
I hold back my tears and a put a smile
For once wear my shoes, and walk a mile!

I am tired, I have tried my best
How many times will you put me to the test?
The results I await have not come yet
That makes me all the more upset

My love for you is true and unconditional
It’s self-sustaining, it doesn’t need anything additional
Are you aware of it or you pretend you don’t know?
Because every time I get up, you let me go

It’s all written over my face, couldn't you ever see?
Whenever you have spoken to me
My eyes light up and I shiver
Unlikely, my voice too begins to quiver

But you seem to be lost in your own world
And I am left to wonder, I'm puzzled
Wish you could get over your shyness
I'm always at your service, your highness!

The Forgotten Souls....

Everyday we remember some famous people who were born or who died on that day. They may be poets, painters, politicians, singers, scientists or actors, who have excelled in some field or the other and have brought laurels to their homeland.

They are the ones who came into this world, were respected, revered and remembered all their lives and even after their death.Their birth might not have caused much joy, but their death certainly saddened all of us.

But wait a minute! what about the people who are born or who die everyday? Why is it that their births/deaths go unnoticed? Is it because they have failed to create Atom Bombs, or perhaps they weren't the first to set their foot on the moon or rather they have never won an Oscar! However, they have done something good in their lives and have contributed to the society in their own ways.

That little girl who helped the blind man cross the road, or the shopkeeper who followed the lady down the lane just to give her the wallet that she had forgotten at his shop. The young man who saved the lives of 10 children or the woman who feeds the dogs near her home everyday or the old man who teaches maths to the neighbourhood children for free every Sunday.

These people are good, not great. They are the ordinary human beings and are therefore simply forgotten and taken for granted. And I'm sure there are many more like them in this world. Neither are their births celebrated, nor are their deaths ever mourned. Unfortunately, their only fault is that they have never done anything significant/extra-ordinary that the world would remember them for. Such people come into this world and simply vanish into thin air. They are the 'Forgotten Souls'!

They are remembered only by their near and dear ones and are later forgotten with time. These people leave for the other world, but are unable to leave a mark on the world they have been living in for so many years. Imagine!

Now the question arises; Does one have to be great/extra ordinary to be remembered? Is a person's kindness, love, benevolence, and affection less valuable in comparison to the feats achieved by the famous and the great men?

I would say No, for these people are no less than them. They are great in their own ways. Greatness is reflected in deeds and actions and is not just confined to doing the impossible. It is also about doing something that is possible, that others are reluctant to do.

Jules Renard, the French author once said,"The reward of great men is that long after they have died, one is not quite sure that they are dead." This clearly shows how the memories of great men are kept alive that we hardly feel they are dead. But the ordinary men are killed even when they are alive!

Rest in peace all the Forgotten Souls. Amen!

Kiss Me Tonight

Kiss me tonight before I die

Speak the truth, I hate those who lie

The sky is blue, the leaves are green

We meet today, I wonder will we be ever seen?

The time has come to a stand still now

But the clocks are ticking, I don't know how?

I take a deep breath and think

The ships in the sea are about to sink

I sow the seeds and water the plants

To you, my love I always grant

Have never ever seen you before

But everything about you, I just adore

The moon today, is full and bright

It makes me think, it makes me write

I look at the mirror and comb my hair

I can't decide on what to wear

I turn to the sky and look at the stars

As I look down, I find the cars

You said something, I didn't hear

You are so far, yet so near

Can't we ever be together?

Every season, every weather

Kiss me tonight before I die

As I sleep, sing me goodbye!

THE IMMORTAL DEAD

I am dying of death, my eyes they cry

I hate how my heart hurts
Is it raining or am I crying?
Oh I am dead, I am dying

I'm scared, I drown all my fears

In the mighty pool of my tears
Everyday I go to the bed
Yes, I am the immortal dead!

I die to live, I live to die

If I love to laugh then why do I cry?
I carry an umbrella to keep off the rain
I smile too much to hide my pain

Tears fall as I smile

There's no respite, even for a while
Days pass, years follow
My voice has turned so hollow

I slowly sing a song and sleep

When I wake up, I weep
I hum a tune all day long
One can not be always wrong

Hatred hates me

Love doesn't love me either
I pant and gasp, and puff and wheeze
I'm desperately in need of a breather
